CoDriver.studio

Terms of Use & Content License

Effective: June 15, 2026

Make things, and use what you make. This page explains what you can do with the sounds you create here, what stays ours, and the one thing we ask in return when you use the free tier.

The short version

You may use the audio you generate — including commercially. On the free tier, just credit CoDriver.studio wherever you publish it. On a Pro plan, the credit isn’t required. You can’t resell our instrument or its sound library as your own, and you can’t reverse-engineer how it works. The legally binding terms are below.

1Who we are & what these words mean

“CoDriver,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean [LEGAL ENTITY — e.g., Alexander Scott Dennison / your LLC], operating CoDriver.studio. By accessing CoDriver.studio or using any of its generators or instruments (including CoSynth), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2Your license to use the Service

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service to create Output, subject to these Terms. We may offer free and paid tiers; the rights in §3 depend on your tier at the time you create the Output.

You may not: (a) copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or host the Engine itself; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive, recreate, or work around the methods the Engine uses (those methods are patent pending); or (c) remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice.

3Your Output — what you can do with it

We want you to use what you make. Subject to these Terms and your tier, we grant you the following license to your Output:

Free tier

Free-tier Output is licensed to you under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. You may use, share, adapt, and build on it in any medium — including commercially — for free, provided you credit CoDriver.studio as described in §5. Where these Terms and CC BY 4.0 differ as to the Output content license, CC BY 4.0 controls.

Pro / paid tier

The same rights, without the attribution requirement, under a separate commercial license we offer alongside the free CC BY option (dual licensing). Your active paid plan or license is your authorization to use Output free of the CoDriver.studio credit, for Output created while the plan is active.

3.1 Your creative layer

As between you and us, you own the original, human-authored choices you contribute — your navigation, blends, routing, edits, and arrangement. We retain everything else (see §3.4). Your Output embodies our underlying material, which you use under the license above.

3.2 No copyright guarantee

Output is generated algorithmically. We make no representation that any Output is protectable by copyright in your favor, and you acknowledge that, because the Engine is deterministic, identical or substantially similar Output may be generated by others. Your rights are the license rights granted here — not a promise of exclusivity or of your own copyright.

3.3 Recipes & addresses

Recipe/coordinate/address files are treated as Output and may be shared and re-used under the same tier terms. They do not grant any right to the Engine or its methods.

3.4 What stays ours

Nothing in these Terms transfers to you any ownership of the Engine, the deterministic kernels, the underlying generative compositions, the patent-pending methods, or our trademarks. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

4What you may not do with Output

5Attribution (free tier — CC BY 4.0)

Free-tier Output is offered under CC BY 4.0, which requires that you give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if you made changes — in any reasonable manner, but not in a way suggesting CoDriver.studio endorses you. For our Output, the required credit is visible attribution to CoDriver.studio wherever the Output is published, distributed, or performed. Acceptable forms include:

You can remove the attribution requirement at any time by upgrading to a Pro license. Don’t alter or hide the credit, and don’t present CoDriver.studio as endorsing your work.

6Our intellectual property

The Service, the Engine, and the underlying compositions are © 2026 [LEGAL ENTITY]. All rights reserved. The underlying generation method is patent pending. CoSynth, POLYMODAL, and CoDriver are trademarks of [owner]. Reading or inspecting any publicly served code grants no license to copy it or to practice the methods it implements.

7Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and all Output are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or that Output will be unique, error-free, or suitable for any use. You use the Service and Output at your own risk.

8Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoDriver will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or relating to the Service or Output. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or [US$100].

9Termination & survival

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, including for breach of these Terms. Your license to use the Service (§2) ends on termination. Output you created and used in compliance with these Terms before termination remains licensed to you under the §3 grant for that tier, so works you have already released in good standing are not put at risk. Sections 3.2–3.4, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.

10Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the revised version here with a new effective date, and material changes take effect for new use of the Service. The license that applied to Output when you created it continues to govern that Output.

11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the [State of Florida, USA], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in [Hillsborough County, Florida], and you consent to that jurisdiction.
